HOW TO SET THE MAGNETIC DECLINATION ANGLE ON MY SPORTDOG® TEK 1.5
WHAT IS THE MAGNETIC DECLINATION AND WHY IS IT IMPORTANT?
Magnetic declination, or magnetic variation, is the angle on the horizontal plane between magnetic north and true north. This angle varies depending on the position on the Earth's surface and changes over time.
Incorrect magnetic declination will result in inaccurate compass readings.
HOW TO SET YOUR CORRECT MAGNETIC DECLINATION ANGLE
Go to Magnetic-Declination.com and enter your location. The first number after “Magnetic Declination” is your magnetic declination angle.
Make sure to include the negative sign if your answer is negative.
From the main menu, select SETTINGS by highlighting and pressing the Right Arrow Key.
Select GENERAL then MAG DEC ANGLE.
Press the up or down arrow on the Menu Selection Pad to set the declination based on your result from Step 1. If you had a negative result, select the negative number here.
Press the right arrow key when finished.
Press the upper button on the right side of the remote to return to the main menu.
