MY DOG DOESN'T RESPOND TO THE COLLAR OF THE SPORTDOG® YARDTRAINER 300

Before troubleshooting, remove the collar from your dog.

Ensure that both the remote transmitter and collar receiver are fully charged, and the collar is powered on.

  • If fully charged and powered on, the collar receiver should blink green every 5 seconds, and the remote transmitter’s indicator light will illuminate green when a button is pressed.

  • For more information on charging, visit HOW TO CHARGE THE YARDTRAINER 300.

Ensure that both contact points on your collar receiver are hand-tight.

Verify that your remote transmitter and collar receiver are paired.

  • Turn your dial to any number and then press the button you use to correct your dog. The collar receiver’s indicator light will light up a solid red while the button is being pressed if paired.

  • If the collar doesn’t light up, pair your remote transmitter, and collar receiver. You can learn how to do that by referring to HOW TO PAIR YOUR YARDTRAINER 300.

Ensure that the collar is delivering the stimulation.

  • Turn the intensity dial on your remote transmitter to 7. Hold the test light tool and place the collar receiver's contact points on the two wires of the tool. Press and hold the stimulation button on your remote. An amber colored light will flash in the center of the test light tool.

Ensure that the collar is fitted properly on your dog. Visit HOW TO FIT THE SPORTDOG® YARDTRAINER 300 COLLAR TO MY DOG for more information.

If you have completed the previous troubleshooting and your dog is still not responding to the correction, increase the stimulation range on the collar. For more information, visit HOW TO INCREASE MY SPORTDOG® YARDTRAINER 300 COLLAR’S STIMULATION RANGE.
